Music…

... is an inherently pleasurable composition of repetitive and predictable sequences and has a receptive, expressive and non-verbal communicative ability.

... provides concurrent stimulation of both the left and right hemispheres of the brain.  The liveliness of music increases neurological communication creating fresh nerve pathways which assists the brain’s process of integrating and comprehending sensory stimuli.

…has a positive effect upon both the neural functions and hormonal activity and can facilitate the healthy functioning of the body’s own immune and regenerative processes.

…has a positive effect on sensory thresholds, cortical arousal levels, electrochemical action potentials and neurotransmitter release.  Using music affects change in blood pressure, respiration and pulse, the cardiovascular system and galvanic skin response.
