I am writing this letter of reference for Mr. Craig Christiansen at his request. I have known Mr. Christiansen for nine months in my position as principal of the Lutherbrook Educational Center. The Center is an educational program for severely emotionally disabled students, ages 8-14. MR. Christiansen is our music therapist. He provides music education for each of our six self contained special education classrooms.
Mr. Christiansen is a talented, creative dedicated professional. He is able to use multiple learning channels to engage our students. He modifies popular games, ie. Bingo and the use of music in movies to help motivate the children.
Recently, when a staff member left the school, Mr. Christiansen, along with one of the classes composed a “goodbye” song. The children performed and recorded the song to give the staff member as a parting gift.
Mr. Christiansen has developed very positive relationships with our students. He has not only taught then the technical aspects of music but has encouraged their appreciation of music.
I would highly recommend Mr. Christiansen as a music therapist. He is able to provide appropriate, individualized programming for special needs children.
